Depression should NEVER be “something is wrong with me” feelings . . .
Here's are a few thoughts about suppression, depression, and over consumptions
Hi Hautie!
Question: When was the last time you REALLY felt alive… and it wasn’t because you bought something or figured something out… but because you made something?
Because here’s the thing I keep noticing (in me too):
Humans are built to create.
And a lot of what we call “depression” is actually what happens when we live in consumption mode for too long.
Like…
scrolling other people’s lives
absorbing opinions
bingeing content
rehashing the same old stories
having 47 conversations about “remember when…”
and looping on your health stuff as if it’s a permanent identity (when most of it started as a past moment your body learned)
And hautie… that’s all past-based fuel.
It’s heavy! Really heavy!
It’s like trying to power today’s version of you with last year’s battery.
When we’re consuming, we’re taking in.
When we’re creating, we’re moving energy.
We’re generating. We’re shaping. We’re choosing. We’re in the present.
So if you’ve been feeling weirdly low lately, I’m not even going to make it dramatic.
So, my Hautie WOO WOO Hustler ;)
What are you making right now?
Not “for money.”
Not “to be good enough.”
Not “to prove anything.”
Just… to let your being breathe again.
Send one voice note or love note.
Write one spicy paragraph.
Rearrange your space.
Draft the post.
Paint the thing.
Start the idea.
Make the playlist.
Cook like you’re flirting with life.
Even ten minutes.
Because consumption will keep you informed.

So true Jeneth and great advice!!
Right now, I'm working on rediscovering who I am and who I want to be in this season of my life!! Spent years helping everyone else, which I loved and that's just part of who I am, and I don't want that to change, but I didn't dedicate enough time for myself!! So, "me development" time comes first then I love building, crafting, making with my hands, just zoning out of reality and into creation. I'm a left brained Pisces :) so I tend to spend a little too much time on planning out my creations but I'm working on that...LOL!!
I think that life in our society tries to steal our creative power by constant fake news and fear mongering, especially for those who are sensitive! Social media is a must now days for business but it's also a tool for those that want to impose control upon the masses. FOMO and trying to exist in this ever growing fast paced world has led to a pandemic of depression in society, especially in young adults! We are social animals, meant to be in communities. That's why I'm so glad I found a tribe of strong, beautiful like-minded people at Haute Hustle. Two heart centered ladies, Jeneth and Lyanca, who actually care enough to ask...what their audience needs, likes and takes care to provide speakers, teachers other co-creators and opportunities that might be hard to find on our own!!
It's a LOVE YOURSELF FIRST kind of thing. You've helped me see that in myself, and I am so very grateful for that, and for you.
